How Much Does Personal Training and Small Group Personal Training Cost In Renton and South Seattle

Why does one trainer cost $70/session (or less), while another $150/session (or more)? I’ll share factors that highlight what increases the cost of personal training, as well as what drops the cost of personal training based on the industry standards.

At Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance, our most popular pricing and plans fall between $327/month to $517/month in semi-private personal training, that also include access to all our classes (both team training, and small group personal training), as well as nutrition guidance, accountability, open gym access to our unique 8,000+ square foot training facility, monthly InBody scans, access to our Normatec Recovery area.

More details about our prices and programs below.

Here are the 7 factors that influence personal training prices in Renton, and South Seattle.

1. The coach: experience, education & specialization

These factors make the prices of personal training go up in the industry:

Years of experience & track record

  • Trainers and coaches with 5–15+ years of experience, proven client results, and long-term retention usually charge more than first-year trainers who are still learning.
  • When a trainer or personal training gym has a track record of many years of getting client transformations, they will have referrals, word of mouth, quality Google reviews, and in an industry where most trainers and gyms don’t last, longevity of 5+, 10+ of 15+ years can tell quite a story about how many clients they have been able to transform.

Advanced education & certifications

  • While degrees from exercise science, kinesiology, biomechanics and sports performance are all signs to look for, the best trainers, coaches, and gyms constantly invest in continuing education & certifications that develop their knowledge and skills to best help their clients.
  • An important question to ask trainers and coaches is what certifications they have, and even more importantly what courses and education they’re currently learning from. This can highlight whether they are a growth minded trainer committed to being the best for their clients.

Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance in Renton, WA hosts anywhere from 8 - 12 seminars and certifications per year for their team of trainers/coaches, which leads not just Washington but also the whole US in gyms committed to continuing education for their staff. It also hosts one of the most recognized events for fitness professionals in the nation called the Vigor Ground Fitness and Business Summit which will host its 8th big event in 2026 in 12 years.

Specialized expertise

  • Whether it’s post-injury training, pre/post natal, older adults, athletes and sports performance, getting people out of back pain. Any trainer that has spent extra time, energy, and money to build deeper skills and can help you with something specific like that is going to be a higher cost and investment; since they will be able to help you get better results, faster, and more guaranteed.

High demand / limited availability

  • Coaches with full rosters or waitlists (especially during peak hours) command higher rates. When a coach has consistently proven to get results, as well as create a great experience for the client, they have high retention (since clients don’t leave often) and have full book of business with

Here’s the factors that makes prices go down in the industry:

Newer trainers building experience

  • Still qualified, but earlier in their career and don’t have as much “proof” of results and consistency. They’re often discounted or “associate coach” rates. This doesn’t mean they are not good coaches, but it does mean they don’t have as much experience and reputation. The turnover in the industry is high so the challenge is also that because many coaches don’t stay for the longer haul, you may lose your coach if they don’t stay in the industry (something that is a lot less likely to happen with experienced coaches with reputation).

Generalist rather than specialist

  • Coaches that haven’t had as much experience will start with a wider group of clients they coach and build up their skills. They will help with getting leaner, stronger, and fitter with the basics, but many times don’t have the skills to solve more challenging problems with clients (nagging pain, more complex weight loss challenges, sports performance, etc. With more knowledge, skills, experience, they build up their value and reputation and become more niche and known for high level results with specific populations.

Some of our coaches have 20+ years of experience, some 10+ years, and we also have younger coaches that we mentor and develop closely through our personal training development systems. Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance has become notorious for mentoring and developing many elite coaches who have later become highly recognized body transformation coaches and successful personal training gym owners.

Our coaches have different expertise ranging from youth sports performance, elite sports performance, fat loss, pre and postpartum, health and well being optimization, body transformation, muscle building.

2. Session format: 1-on-1 Personal Training, Semi-Private Personal Training, Small Group Personal Training

Price tends to go up as sessions get more individualized and more exclusive:

Private 1:1 training (most expensive per session)

  • 100% of the coach’s attention.
  • Fully customized programming, pacing, exercise selection, and conversation.
  • When you’re looking for the highest level of coaching, focus, and accountability, 1-on-1 personal training may be the best fit, and you’re willing to invest the highest amount into yourself for your health, body composition, and performance changes.
  • If the coach has a higher level of skillset, the training may consist of additional nutrition and accountability coaching (more about this later as well).

Some insights on the average 1-on-1 personal training rates in the greater Seattle area:

Gym type

Average rate per hour

Typical range per hour

Examples & notes

Big Box Gyms (LA Fitness, 24 Hour, Golds, etc)

$80/session

$60-$100/session

- LA Fitness (Tacoma/Seattle area): $60–$100/session, often $70-$90 for packages.

- 24 Hour Fitness (Seattle locations): ~$80/session.

- Lower entry due to volume sales; high turnover of coaches, and less experienced coaches, lower reliability

Boutique Gyms (Independent Studios, Crossfit/F45/Orange Theory privates, etc.)

$110/session

$80-$150+/session

- Thumbtack Seattle average: $80–$110, but experienced trainers hit $110+.

- Columbia City studios: $85–$120.

- Premium for niches like fat loss; e.g., $110–$150 at specialized facilities. Often no gym membership is bundled.

In Home 1:1 Personal Training

$120/session

$90-$160+

$150+- Lisa Hansen Seattle in-home: ~$100–$130 for equipment-inclusive sessions.

- Guided Fitness & RightFit: $100–$140, higher for certified nutrition/fat loss experts.

- Premium for niches; e.g., Rain City Fit notes $90–$110 as baseline for accessible in-home.

Semi-private / small-group (mid-range per person)

  • 2–5 clients with one coach (this is what most semi-private personal training programs have as the model).

  • Individualized/customized programming, but shared coaching time.
  • Lower cost per session and more affordable, which allows clients to either: get more personal training (which helps get more accountability and results faster) or paying a lower monthly cost for training overall.
  • The benefit of semi-private personal training is that you also get accountability and support from other clients on the same journey as you. While some clients prefer the 1:1 treatment, many clients find that semi-private personal training creates even more support, accountability, and an environment for results (while costing drastically less).
  • Similarly to 1:1: if the coach, or gym, has a higher level of skillset, the training may consist of additional nutrition and accountability coaching (more about this later as well). The truth is nutrition guidance is an important factor in getting the best health, body composition, and performance results.

At Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance semi-private personal training is our super-power. We were the first gym in WA state to have a semi-private coaching membership 18-years ago. We have helped over 4,000+ clients get sustainable results in a semi-private and small group personal training model. The owner Luka Hocevar started this model, as he believed that personal training should be available to more people, without reducing the quality of coaching, experience, and the results they receive. 1-on-1 personal training wasn’t feasible for many people

Luka’s and his insights and philosophies have been featured in Men’s Health, Entrepreneur Magazine, HBO Sports, STACK Magazine, ABC, FOX, USA Today, Schwarzenegger's Pump Club, T-Nation, The Model Health Show, Seattle Morning Show, and many more.

Small Group Personal Training Class (least expensive per person)

  • Most small group personal training programs are between 6-16 people (which is usually dependent on the gym size and the equipment available).
  • The Coach runs one plan/training program for the group of clients. A quality small group personal training program has a structured and progressed 4-week program with adjustments for the exercises for different fitness levels and individuals.

  • Great energy, but less individual attention. While a great coach will help everyone frequently in a small group personal training session, there’s no way to have as much customization, support, and coaching as in a semi-private personal training session or a 1-on-1 personal training session.

The more of your coach’s time and attention you’re buying, the higher the price per session. That’s why 1:1 costs more semi-private personal training and small-groups.

It’s important to know that the best coaches also help you get results faster, so you’re investing in their experience and skills, which means the investment is higher (a good analogy is that taking a greyhound takes longer and is cheaper than a plane flight which is faster).

3. Time, frequency & commitment

What makes cost/session go up

Longer sessions (60–75 minutes vs 30–45).

  • 1-on-1 personal training sessions are usually 60-minutes long, even though some gyms and coaches do offer 30-minute sessions as well. When it comes to certain sports performance aspects, the sessions may go as long as 90-minutes. I believe it’s important for the gym and coach to implement what is best for the client, which in most cases will be a 60-minute long session that can include a quality warm up/mobility, power & strength training, lean muscle building, and conditioning.

Very flexible, no-commitment options

  • Single sessions or ultra-short contracts usually cost more per session because there’s no guaranteed future revenue.
  • Longer commitment for the client usually gets best results since it means training consistency over time, which also creates more consistency for the coach, which can then drive the cost per session down slightly and making it less expensive for the client.
  • It’s important to understand that coaches have a lot of work on the front end of getting a new client going. Everything from client intake form, assessment, creating a new program, working on habits, as well as accountability, so if there are few training sessions or a short-term contract its normal for the rates to be quite higher as there are many “unseen” hours of work that the coach puts in to help the client achieve their goals.

Peak-time demand

  • Early mornings, lunchtime, and after-work blocks are “prime real estate” and may be priced accordingly.
  • While we believe that the value of a training session is consistent since the right gym and coach will deliver a consistent, reliable, experience and result; it is normal that when certain scheduled times are in higher demand, they can also lead to a higher-priced session. This goes especially in certain areas of Seattle.

What makes cost/session go down

Shorter sessions

  • 30–45 minute formats, especially for well-designed semi-private sessions. If the coach is very good with programming, coaching and getting results; even though the session is shorter, while it will be less of an investment, it won’t be half-off (for example, if a 60-minute session is $100, the 30-minute session won’t be $50, it may be more like $60+).

Higher frequency & longer commitments

  • 2–4x/week and 3–12 month agreements often come with a lower per-session rate. The more frequency and the longer the commitment to personal training, the lower the per session rate will be. Many personal training gyms have a monthly membership, which includes a certain number of sessions per week as well as other amenities, bonuses. This makes it a more consistent and successful investment for the client, and also allows for the coach to help the client more since they will be spending enough time with them.

Off-peak times (late morning, mid-afternoon)

  • Easier for the gym to fill, so they might be discounted. This really depends on the gym and the coach. The value of the coach doesn’t go up or down whether the time is more in demand or not. Some gyms do change the price of less in demand times for training but I don’t believe you can equate “happy hours” at a restaurant to a personal training service.

Clients who train 2–3x/week on a 3 or 12-month plan pay less on average per session than someone dropping in once in a while (at Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance we don’t do once in while sessions as you have an opportunity to try us out through our trial, and/or there is 3 or 12-month commitment to training as that is how the best results are achieved for clients).

4. What’s included beyond the session

Price goes up when more support is bundled in:

Assessment & testing

  • Quality client intake forms, In-depth movement screen, body composition, and performance tests. Whether it’s and InBody, or even something more robust as a DEXA scan, force plates (to determine power, lower and upper body asymmetries, vertical jump), speed tests, mobility assessments, even VO2 max testing and bloodwork.
  • Skilled and experienced coaches with more education and certifications can use assessments to discover bottlenecks clients didn’t even know about. As we liked to say: “Awareness precedes change, and assessment precedes awareness.” If you’re not assessing you’re guessing.

At Vigor Ground Fitness & Performance we have an InBody scanner that clearly determines your weight, body fat percentage, and lean body mass (this testing is included monthly with your personal training). We also have an in-house DEXA scan and VO2 max testing in partnership with DexaFit (the gold standard for testing used in hospitals). Beyond that we also have Hawkins Dynamics force plates that determine asymmetries and athleticism, and Dashr speed gates to test speed.

For purposes of deeper health we also have a relationship with Marek Health to get comprehensive blood work to be able to support overall health and well-being.

Last but not least, we have an in house physical therapy partner - HIDEF Physical Therapy, who even provide a free injury and performance assessment for any new Vigor Ground Fitness personal training clients; and always have guidance and advice for any client coming in with a nagging issue, previous injury, or any concerns.

Program design outside the session

  • Custom training plans for “off” days, travel weeks, or home workouts. Programming is a science and an art, and great coaches really deliver a lot of value with programming the “full picture,” which means planning what the client does on strength days, conditioning days, recovery mobility, if they travel, etc. The guidance to know what to do step-by-step on the daily is a big value which also takes the coach extra time to do.
  • Many times you may purchase a personal training session per week, for example, and get no guidance on what to do on other days. Achieving a goal requires multiple days of training as well as conditioning, possibly mobility work, etc. A quality transformation gym and coach will provide guidance through what needs to be done on all the days. This type of service will many times mean the investment for training is higher.

At Vigor Ground Fitness our coaches provide guidance on what to do every day, whether it's through the program design app every client gets access to with their personal training, as you can see below (sets and reps, tracking weight, as well as videos and coaching of exercises).

Or the coaching and guidance to let the client know which groups and classes to go to as they also receive that as part of their personal training membership.

Nutrition coaching

  • Meal planning help, macro guidance, weekly check-ins. While most big box gyms, and even boutique gyms, don’t have nutrition coaching included, some gyms and coaches do. It’s clear that training + nutrition coaching combine to be bigger than the sum of its parts, especially since most people struggle with overcoming their eating habits/behaviors.

At Vigor Ground Fitness our coaches are Precision Nutrition certified, so that we can help clients simplify their nutrition and “next steps” so they’re never overwhelmed, and always know what they need to do based on their lifestyle, preferences, and goals. We also have in-house resources from guides, recipe books, as well as frequent nutrition seminars to help clients achieve sustainable habit changes.

We do seminars like this often and record them for our members

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzJgZswumH0&t=1s

Accountability & communication

  • Between-session text support, progress reviews, app access, habit tracking. The best coaching supports clients outside of the gym too, as it's where they need guidance, advice, and accountability on lifestyle habits that will support their total transformation.

The complete coaching approach is like a GPS. You are at “point A” with your body, health, fitness, and performance, and you have a “point B” that you want to get to. The training, nutrition and lifestyle guidance from a coach is the path that leads you to point B.

It’s important that the coach hears you, understands you and your story, what you want to achieve and why; and takes your life into account (training history, health history, any previous injuries, preferences, etc).

Additional services

  • Recovery tools (Normatec, sauna, cold plunge), workshops, or specialty clinics.

At Vigor Ground Fitness we have in-house partners of FitBar Cafe where you can get delicious protein smoothies, acai bowls, as well as other healthy drinks and snacks. We also have an in-house partner HIDEF Physical Therapy that does an injury and performance assessment for our clients. They are an incredible resource for clients when it comes to any nagging aches, pains, and injuries that may come up from being active in life.

We work together to provide anyone with injuries the best programming, coaching and support to help them make their comeback and transformation complete.

We also have Normatec recovery chairs and boots that clients can use to recover and relax after a training session. Another elite tier for recovery we provide is the Oxyhealth Vitaeris 320 Hyperbaric chamber for clients that want to take their recovery to another level.

Price goes down when it’s “session only”:

  • Just “show up, train, go home” with little or no support outside the hour will usually have lower prices. Most of the time, this approach is challenging to deliver the best results as the best body composition changes happen with a combination of consistent exercise, changes in nutrition and lifestyle, supported by guidance and accountability.

You’re not just paying for the session in the gym. Our rates also reflect how much assessment, planning, program design, coaching, and accountability happens between sessions.

5. Facility, equipment & location

What pushes prices up

High-rent areas / premium neighborhoods

  • Downtown, business districts, and high-cost-of-living cities. (For example, Seattle, Bellevue and surrounding areas are usually higher than smaller towns, but you’re also seeing other areas grow and develop and see rise in rents such as Newcastle, and Renton)

Boutique environment & amenities

  • Small client-to-coach ratio, private or semi-private facility, nicer locker rooms, towel service, recovery tools, etc.
  • Boutique personal training facilities can also guarantee the space is only used for their clients without open gym memberships for people that do not get coaching. This makes it much more community based, a safer environment, with less traffic and issues with use of equipment and having to wait for it.
  • The culture of boutique transformation personal training studios is “client-centric”, which means the number one focus is creating great results and experience for the clients, as this is part of what helps them succeed and stay in business. Unlike big box gyms where the goal is to have as many members as possible and if most don’t come, that’s part of the business model; rather than getting clients results (big box gyms essentially rent equipment to members).

It’s an important decision when searching for a gym and personal trainer to make a distinction on whether you are looking to get lasting results, or if you’re looking for a place that you can get your own training in without any guidance, coaching, or support.

Specialized equipment

  • Turf, sleds, platforms, specialty bars, special equipment, technology, rehab tools—all increase setup costs.
  • It’s important to state that equipment, technology, tools are a factor; but it’s very important that the coaches and team of the gym know how to use the equipment and tools. Many times a new gym opens with equipment and doesn’t have the required expertise and experience to use that equipment, technology and tools to help clients achieve the best results.

What keeps prices lower

Big-box gyms or community centers

  • They spread costs over many hundreds if not thousands of members; PT is often cheaper, sometimes with less individualized attention, with higher turnover of coaches, and they are not usually known for reliable coaching and transformations (their main business is cheaper memberships and as many members as possible)

Minimalist facilities

  • Warehouse-style, fewer amenities, more bare-bones but still effective setups. Many times these facilities can be more results based and the expertise comes from high level knowledge, experience, and coaching, and the value is not in the expensive space and equipment.

Gyms in high-rent areas with boutique spaces and lots of amenities typically charge more than big-box gyms or community centers. We are a results based boutique gym that is focused on transformations and performance. Our space, equipment, and amenities are a special combination, but the main reason people seek us out is because they are searching for personal training that has a reputation of reliable results (many clients seek us out after failing after trying them out themselves or other programs).

6. Who employs the trainer (business model)

Higher prices often come from:

Independent studio / boutique PT gyms

  • Provide more tailored service, more coaching per client, and invest heavily in staff development.
  • These gyms livelihood is from getting clients results and having a strong knit supportive community, it’s not from having a big number of gym memberships without support. Because of that they tend to have more reliable results for clients.

Trainers who run their own business inside a gym

  • They’re covering rent, insurance, and taxes, so their session price reflects that overhead.

Lower prices often come from:

In-house trainers at big-box chains

  • The gym sets the rates; trainers receive a smaller cut, but the sticker price may be lower.

New independents or online-only coaches

  • Lower overhead, sometimes passing savings on to clients.

Independent studios like ours generally charge more than chain gyms because we staff higher-qualified coaches, invest a lot in developing coaches through education and training, and keep sessions smaller, while building customized plans for each client (and coaching and guiding more than just training sessions, but also nutrition, lifestyle, mindset, and keeping client accountable).

7. Risk, guarantees & flexibility

What pushes price up (but often increases perceived value):

Strong guarantees

  • “If you attend X sessions and follow the plan but don’t feel better, we’ll coach you 1:1 at no extra cost,”.

At Vigor Ground Fitness we have a 30-day Results In Advance Program where you can try us out for 30-days with semi private personal training, small group personal training, nutrition coaching, and full access of classes, and if you feel we didn’t live up to the promised experience, we’ll give you your money back.

High flexibility

  • Easy rescheduling, multiple time options, ability to pause for travel.

The reason the semi-private personal training model is also a better fit for most clients is because of flexibility. With 1-on-1 training if you are late you only get part of the session (we understand sometimes traffic, unforeseen things in life happen, and you can’t make it on time), where with semi-private personal training, you’ll still be able to get your full session in since it can carry over into the next hour without disrupting the flow, other clients, and you still get the same high level coaching and service to help you achieve your goals.

What keeps price down

Stricter policies

  • Tight cancellation windows, fewer options to reschedule, little flexibility around absences.

No guarantee

  • You’re simply paying to rent time and space, with all risk on the client.

Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance Pricing and Plans

Renton, South Seattle reference: 1:1 sessions in our area often run $90–$130 for 60-minute sessions. Semi-private personal training in our area is often $40-$80 per 60-minute session.

Semi-private personal training typically nets the best return on investment (ROI) for busy professionals, as they get custom programming, in-person coaching, accountability, and are able to train more frequently, and flexibly, than they could do with 1-on-1 personal training (which leads to faster results).

1) Semi-Private Personal Training (2-5 People, 60-minutes); Our Flagship Results Program – Most Popular & Highest Value

1x a week: $377/month - $397/month

What you get with this plan:

  • Movement assessment + customized programming for each in person training session
  • 1-3x a week individualized semi-private personal training session

3) 1:1 Personal Training (60 minute sessions) - Most exclusive, highest attention, very limited availability

Single session: $100-$120/session

1x a week (average rate per month): $475/month

2x a week (average rate per month): $950/month

3x a week (average rate per month): $1,300/month

What you get with this plan:

  • Movement assessment + customized programming for each in person training session
  • 1-3x a week individualized private 1-on-1 personal training session

  • Weekly accountability check-ins outside of the session time
  • Access to all group training and open gym
  • Monthly InBody Scan
  • Free Injury and performance assessment with our partner HIDEF Physical Therapy
  • Access to our Normatec Recovery area

Who it’s for: High-stakes goals, specific injuries that need more attention, or those who simply prefer 100% attention and more.

At Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance we have very limited 1-on-1 personal training availability as our main model of coaching is semi-private personal training (as it’s more affordable for most, delivers so much value and allows clients to train more often for less - we have become known for this as we were the first gym in the Renton area delivering this model and have 18-years of reliable results with 4,000+ clients).

The reality is that creating a health and body transformation are not “quick fixes” as it requires sustainable habit change. Doing something for 6-12 weeks, getting results, and then stopping, will not get you long-term results that you maintain.

This is why it's important to choose the right gym, personal training gym, and personal trainer that can help you make these changes for good. When you look at it as a short and long-term investment in your health, body, and performance, then you know it will be worth the investment and deliver the value.

Personal training gyms that are reliable and have a proven track record will give you more confidence and will certainly not be the cheapest ones, but you’ll know there’s hundreds, if not thousands of success stories to show that you are in the right place.

High quality personal training will continue to rise in investment when there is a proven track record. We believe every person has a preference, budget, and specific goals, which will then lean them towards 1-on-1, semi-private, or small group personal training.

Not every gym is great at everything. Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance specializes and has become not only locally, but also nationally and internationally known for their semi-private and small group personal training. They are leaders in developing proven transformation systems in those two methods to personal training.

There are great gyms where their main model is 1-on-1 personal training or large group fitness, and if those are the options you’re looking for, we can recommend some great options.

Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance is worth it if you’re committed and serious about your health, fitness, performance and body composition.

We have been featured in Men’s Health, Men’s Health UK, T-Nation, Arnold Schwarzenegger's Pump Club, The Model Health Show, HBO Sports, Seattle Morning Show, Entrepreneur Magazine, FOX, ABC, Stack Magazine, ONNIT, USA Today, Eat This Not That, Healthline, Precision Nutrition, and much more.

I don’t say this to impress you, but to impress upon you that we are recognized experts at health, performance, and body transformations, with a track record of 18-years and thousands of client success stories. The people that join Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance do not want the status quo of health, performance and body composition in the US. They want to be the best version of themselves and upgrade how they look, feel, and perform, and really care about their health and are looking for a reliable, proven personal training gym to help them get there.

Frequently Asked Personal Training and Small Group Personal Training Pricing Questions

"What is the actual price difference between Small Group Training and Semi-Private Personal Training?"

The difference between Small Group Personal Training and Semi-Private Personal Training at Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance is $327-$347/month for the small group option (you get 3x a week training for this price point), while its $497-$517/month for 2x a week semi-private personal training and $647-$677/month for 3x a week semi-private personal training.

What’s important to understand is that small group personal training is a group of 12-15 people with a general program that progresses over 4-weeks, adjusted for each individual with regressions and progressions.

With semi-private personal training there are completely customized programs for each individual based on their goals, training history, injury history, and preferences, and then applied in an hour with 3-5 people in that session.

Any client that signs up for semi-private personal training also gets access to our small group personal training (which is a big additional value), as well as our team training classes (these are our cardio group sessions that get you fit, conditioned, and help with building general fitness capacity). Small group personal training clients also get access to our team training classes.

"Why is your gym more expensive than a commercial box gym or a standard fitness franchise?"

A commercial gym leases you equipment as you pay to get access to use their amenities. Their company is in the business of renting space and equipment rather than helping members achieve sustainable results and a full transformation. The success of the business is not influenced by the results of the members.

A standard fitness franchise is usually bought by a business person that is not involved in the day-to-day of the coaching business and the goal is “numbers” in the business as it’s looked at as a return on investment (and there’s nothing wrong with that it makes sense to get a return on your investment). Usually the turnover of coaches is high as people move on in their career, and there is very little if any continuing education for the team/staff on their skill level. It can certainly be the right choice for people and they can get results. The reason the pricing may be lower then a more exclusive boutique gym is because they don’t have as high a level of expertise, reputation, and proven results.

At Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance you are not paying for access to machinery, you are paying for expert coaching, customized programming, accountability, injury mitigation, guidance, a proven and reliable transformation program that has helped thousands of clients transform over the 18-years. We also have coaches that care and have meaning and purpose behind their work, it's beyond just a “job”, it’s a vocation, which carries over into how they show up.

There is more development of skills and education for the Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance coaches than any other gym in WA state (this is factual and not opinionated). Vigor even puts on one of the most recognized events in the fitness industry called the Vigor Ground Fitness and Business Summit.

"Do I have to sign a long-term contract, or do you offer month-to-month options?"

For any person that is not sure about signing up at Vigor Ground Fitness and Performance, we offer a paid risk-free 14 day Results In Advance Program (our trial) so that you can experience the coaching, the community, the results, before making a commitment.

After that we have a 3-month and 12-month commitment for our coaching memberships. Most goals our clients want to achieve are at least 3-months out or they are a lifestyle change, which takes a year (which is why there is a 12-month option). Once the 3-months or 12-months are up, it goes into a month-to-month membership which you can simply cancel by letting us know 21-days ahead of time. We make cancellation simple and smooth without any paperwork and complexity.

We have found that clients that commit to their long-term fitness end up having by far the best results and sustainable transformations.

"What happens to my investment if I miss a scheduled session? Do I lose it?"

For every semi-private personal training session missed, you have 30-days to make it up. The semi-private personal training model allows us to have a lot more flexibility with clients as they can come and make up sessions with more options than 1-on-1 training (with 1-on-1 training if you miss a session it’s hard to make it up if a coach has a busy schedule).

Most clients have a structured schedule and have their sessions on the same days of the week as that is what allows for structure and best success, but when necessary, and a client misses a session; we make it simple to make it up.

"Do you offer a money-back guarantee if I don’t see results?"

We do offer a money back guarantee during our 14-day Results In Advance Program (which is our trial). In that time most people like the training, experience, and see some progress to where they choose to continue with us. Some people don’t continue with us as they’re not the right fit (we get that we’re not going to be for everyone). Very rarely we get someone that wasn’t happy with their experience and value, and in that situation we’re more than happy to refund them the full amount.

"What happens if I need to cancel my membership early? Are there fees?"

We require 21-days notice to cancel the membership. Once the membership is a month-to-month status there is no cancellation fee. If you cancel while being on a contract there is a $75/month cancellation fee (for example, if you have two months left on the contract, there will be a $150 fee). There is also no cancellation fee if a client is moving away or if they have a medical reason they cannot continue.

"Are nutrition coaching, fitness assessments, and open gym access included in the monthly price?"

The assessment is part of every one of our memberships as it is what helps us design the customized and individualized semi-private personal training program. While we provide nutrition guides, nutrition recipe books, as well as quarterly nutrition seminars for all of our members for free, to get customized guidance, nutrition coaching and accountability/checks in, specifically for nutrition; there is an additional investment.

Open gym is available to our semi-private personal training members, but not to small group personal training or team training members.

If you have any other questions, please shoot them our way HERE and we’ll update the FAQ section and get back to you right away to answer you as well.

We wanted to create this guide to help you make the important decision of choosing the right personal training, semi-private personal training, or small group personal training to help you achieve your health, fitness, performance, and body composition goals.
